We're coming to Bendigo!

Yes "From Picture to Page" scrapbooking & papercraft show is coming to Bendigo.
We're looking forward to meeting lots of new people and showing some great products and techniques at the show.
There will be 15 − 20 traders and I'll let you know the final count as soon as I've finalised all the sites; or just keep an eye on the list to the left of you (under "our Bendigo Traders").
We've secured the Kangaroo Flat Primary School basketball stadium which is a fantastic venue - well lit and lots of space for all of us plus demonstrations and our popular kids' card-making table.

Yay - Tara has re-counted all the cards and she says there are more than 500! That's awesome! Thanks everyone who donated - you are champions!

I haven't had a chance as yet, to go through all the creative tag-lines that I'm sure are there, from those who thought up some for me.
I'll let you know the outcome of that.
I'll also be putting up some piccies taken at the show in a few days (when I work out how you get them off the little camera and onto here - I can do it with our big camera but not the little one. Ah another job for Les to do! grin).

Post-show news

Wow we had a great show at East Burwood this past weekend. The weather was a bit on and off but all in all not too bad - and really quite perfect for staying indoors at the show shopping and trying out new stuff! (I even got to do a make-n-take which I am very pleased with - thanks Leesa!)
It was great to see lots of our regular customers enjoying themselves plus lots of new people who made the trip from far-flung places like Bendigo, Shepparton, Romsey, Cook Point, Geelong and Gippsland just to name a few. We know you all enjoyed the show too because you told us! grin.
And...didn't the trading hall look lovely with all those twinkly Christmas lights on the stalls.
We had lots of lucky door prize winners which was great and thanks to all the stallholders who donated stuff especially Deb Ross from Debling in Design who always gives us mega-boxes full of stuff!
We had 3 winners of the grand prizes donated by Fern Gully Stamps and I will tell you who they are tomorrow (I gave the winners list to Kerry from FGS and she will be calling the winners).
I do recall that one of the winners is Juliana Bouma who lives out in Lilydale. Congratulations Juliana! What a great prize you've won. Big thanks to Fern Gully Stamps for providing 3 such fantastic prizes!
Our next show is in May at East Burwood (although watch this space because I'm looking at some venues in country areas and it may be close to you!).

Oh and I gotta mention the "For That Cause" table in the foyer at the show. The aim of these gals was to reach 500 cards to donate to Charities for them to sell.
As of about 30 minutes ago they had been given 380 cards which is so awesome! Thanks to everyone who brought their cards for this cause.

CLASSES AT THE SHOW

Exciting news! - Little Bits are running classes at the show.
Here's the info:

12-2pm Vintage Style Christmas Cards $30
We will make 5 cards with a vintage touch using Darkroom Door's new Dear Santa Vol 2 set. In your kit will be a voucher so that you can purchase this set at 25% off after the class.

2:30-3:30pm Beginners Christmas Cards $20
Whether you're just starting out in this hobby, or after some very quick and easy ideas, this class is for you.

Book now by calling the shop on 03 9798 4122, or book at the Little Bits stand at the show. Classes are all inclusive - you don't need to bring a thing, it's all provided.

You can also look forward to 33 traders, 19 of which are giving product demonstrations and 8 of which are doing make-n-takes.

The free supervised kids' card-making area is offering a new little project for those who like a bit of direction otherwise just do your own thing.

Creative Butterflies in conjunction with TG Australia are offering make-n-takes for the beautiful craft of parchment.

Their theme is Christmas and they will show you how to make a little angel and tree.

Copic demos

Great News for Magnolia stamp lovers and Copic fans - Zoe from Make it Crafty, TOMIC design team and Zoe's Magnolia cards is going to be with Shopbron from 1pm Sunday at the Burwood show. Zoe is famous for her colouring articles in each of the Magnolia ink magazines and has tutorials on line to help you with copic colouring. Come by and watch her colour for great tips.

Note that a couple of other stalls will be also demonstrating Copic markers so if you cannot make it on Sunday, it's not a problem.

Burwood show stuff

Hi,

popping in to let you all know that we will have 15 traders at the show who will be doing product demonstrations and also we will have 7 traders who are offering make-n-takes. You'll be able to watch different papercraft techniques as well as have the opportunity to have a go yourself.

There are 33 traders all up and it's shaping up to be a great show with a few new traders as well as many of our regulars.

For That Cause

For That Cause is a new group set up by a group of friends who want to help people out.

They are running a "Card Drive" and are collecting handmade greeting cards to donate to local Public Hospitals and charities for them to sell.

They are looking for crafty ladies (or guys) who like making cards.

BIG PRIZES AT EAST BURWOOD IN OCTOBER

Upcoming East Burwood show in October.

We have a few new traders as well as many of our regulars. Check the trader list at the left - which I am adding to as the show fills.

There will be loads of lucky door prizes to give away and if you've won one in the past you'll know what great prizes they are.

We also have 3 big big prizes which are valued at $400.00-$500.00 each and consist of some fantastic books and paper punches. These have been donated by FernGully Stamps and there will be a special draw for these - we'll need you to enter your name and email or snail mail address into the box.

For these 3 prizes you do not have to be present at the draw as we will notify you if you have won.

There's lots of demos as usual and some make-n-takes. Alison Ellis will be offering her very popular make-n-take cards and Debling in Design will be demonstrating Copic Caio and Copic Sketch Markers. They will have all the La La Land Stamps available and you are welcome to have a colour with the markers on pre stamped images.

Wodonga show

We are looking forward to once again making the trek up to Wodonga. We've increased the number of traders to 18 so far and I have a couple of sites left at this stage.

This is more than we had last year and whilst we did lose a couple who were closing their businesses down, we have 9 new traders for you.

The traders have indicated that amongst them they they will be offering 4 make-n-take projects and 7 of them are doing product demonstrations so allow some time to spend at both of those things apart from your shopping time.

We also hope you'll take advantage of our catering service which offers freshly made sandwiches, tea/coffee/softdrink and yummy homemade slices all at reasonable prices. We'll have a place for you to sit and relax for a while before you venture back into the trading room.

WOW I was gobsmacked at all the people who came out to our very first Pakenham show.

It was fabulous! To everyone who came - thank you so much your support. We all had a ball - there were lots of lucky door prize winners and lots of enthusiasm from all of you.

We had more kids than we have ever had at the kids' table.

Beautiful weather, great venue, good lighting; however, I must apologise for there not being enough food at the cafe and for them closing at 3.00pm which was 90 minutes before we closed. I will be taking this further. If you have any comments about that situation please feel free to email me and I will pass the comments on.

Little Bits are running classes on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 11am.

This is for a “One Hour Layout” and costs just $20 which includes all tools and materials.

Join Teresa for this quick and easy layout class. Using beautiful Prima papers you'll make a layout to fit a 5x7 size photo - bring to class or add later. They have pink or cream kits available, but book early to ensure your selection. Little Bits ph: 9798 4122 email: littlebitscards@hotmail.com

Another class is from the team at Debling in Design and in this one you'll make a “Classics Layout”. You’ll learn how to do embossing and have fun playing with spray mist. It was so great to see lots of people at the East Burwood show. Walking around a couple of times I noticed that there were more demonstrations this time and lots of people taking advantage to sit and find out about products and how to use them.

Thanks to the traders who once more were incredibly generous with door prizes - we had heaps of giveaways and there were heaps of winners. A few people received "lucky spot surprise prizes" (which we invented on the spot to inject a bit more fun into the weekend).

If you didn't make it, not to worry - come along to our Pakenham show in June.

This promises to be as big (if not bigger) than East Burwood and we have several new traders from the eastern areas of Victoria.

Geelong show

We had a great time at the Geelong show - it was fabulous to see so many people coming along instead of going to the airshow.

Lots of happy people went home with some great prizes and we will be coming back next year to do it again.

The venue is fantastic - lots of light (great for the demonstrations as well as shopping) and loads of parking.

The canteen area was very busy - due to the yummy slices and sandwiches made freshly onsite.

Our new staff members James and Mandy were fantastic - thank you very much - and Leith (our super-slice-salesman) outdid himself by working very hard to keep you all fed and watered.

On behalf of my staff and myself thanks to all the traders who are helping to make this a great show and a fun weekend for us all. I certainly appreciate you all - your attitude and co-operation makes my role a lot easier.

Moving on..

East Burwood - less than 2 weeks! Yikes.

It's going to be great - I even believe that lots of the ladies are making the long trip over from Geelong (although it doesn't beat Barb who comes across from Perth every year!).
